Data Stored Locally
The following information is stored locally in your browser and is never sent to our servers:
- Subscription names and expiry dates you add
- Cancellation URLs you provide
- Your notification preferences
- License key (stored locally after activation)
Data Sent to Our Servers
If you are a user with email reminders enabled, we collect:
- Email address: To send you reminder emails
- License key: To verify your Pro subscription
- Subscription details: Name and expiry date of subscriptions for which email reminders are sent
This data is only transmitted when sending email reminders and is not stored permanently on our servers.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide subscription tracking and reminder functionality
- To send email reminders (Pro feature, with your consent)
- To verify license keys for Pro features
- To improve our service and fix bugs
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Email reminders are sent through Resend, a secure email service provider
- We do not store your subscription data on our servers
- License keys are validated but not logged or stored in plain text
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Resend: Email delivery service for sending reminder emails
- Vercel: Hosting for our API services
- Polar.sh: Payment processing for Pro licenses
These services have their own privacy policies that govern their use of your data.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data stored in the extension via your browser's storage
- Delete: Remove all your data by uninstalling the extension
- Opt-out: Disable email reminders at any time in the extension settings
- Data portability: Export your subscription data (feature coming soon)
Data Retention
Local data is retained until you delete it or uninstall the extension. We do not retain email addresses or subscription details on our servers beyond what is necessary to send reminder emails.
Children's Privacy
Cansel is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
